Most Instagrammable Spots in San Francisco

There are so many cool places to check out in San Francisco! You can definitely spend a whole week wandering San Francisco and the general Bay Area. If you love a good Instagram moment, I have compiled a few of the spots I was able to check out recently on my trip to San Francisco.

If you missed my other post on what I did with 48 hours in San Francisco, you can check that post out here.

Clift Royal Sonesta

Address: 495 Geary St, San Francisco, CA 94102

  • First up on the list is the Clift Royal Sonesta! There are a few great Instagrammable places in the hotel, but my favorite has to be the giant oversized chair that just sits to the left of the entrance to the hotel. I recommend a running jump to get up on the chair!

Home Coffee Roasters

Address: 455 Grant Ave, San Francisco, CA 94108

  • I love a good Instagrammable coffee and if you order the birthday cake latte or the red velvet latte. Fair warning, after tip, this was the most expensive coffee I’ve had at about $7.25.

Golden Gate Bridge

The most iconic spot in San Francisco for photos is the Golden Gate Bridge. There are also so many good photo spots of the bridge too. These are just 3 of my suggestions:

  • Bridge framed by two trees
    • Address: Langdon Ct, San Francisco, CA 94129
    • There are two trees in this parking lot that perfectly frame the bridge! I definitely recommend starting here and then walking to the next few spots.
  • Battery East Road Trail
    • Start making your way downhill from this parking lot and you will find a trail that wrap around and underneath the bridge. From here you can head up to cross the bridge, or continue under to the other side like I did where you will find some amazing photo ops.
  • San Francisco Bay Trail
    • Make sure to head downhill toward Crissy Beach / Fort Point where you will get some amazing views of the bridge from down by the beach!

Palace of Fine Arts

Address: 3601 Lyon St, San Francisco, CA 94123

  • I think this is my new favorite spot in San Francisco. I’ve been missing Europe so this felt like I was being transported to Europe. This space was originally for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exhibition, but is now an events venue. You can also wander around the grounds for free.

Cable Car

  • The cable car is one of the most popular things to do. It connects you between Union Square all the way to the Fisherman’s Wharf. The ride costs $9 one way per person and is about a 25 minute ride start to finish. There are a few ways you can ride the cable car: Sitting outside, sitting inside or standing on the outside of the car hanging on. I opted to sit most of the ride, but had to get a standing photo!

Ferry Building

Address: 1 Ferry Building, San Francisco, CA 94105

  • This 1898 historical building is now a marketplace where you can get everything from oysters to ice cream to your next read. The outside of the building is beautiful I had to take a photo. Don’t forget to also snag a photo at this geometric water feature as well.

The Curran

Address: 45 Geary St, San Francisco, CA 94102

The Curran is a gorgeous theater both inside and outside. However, you can snag a photo in front of the building with the show that is currently playing there. We happened to be seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child so I definitely needed a photo.

Umbrella Alley

Address: 757 Beach St, San Francisco, CA 94109

I stumbled across Umbrella Alley on Pinterest the morning we were leaving and had to stop by. It’s a great, clean alley way + covered garage that is covered in murals. The person who owns this alley also does Segway, Jeep and lucky tuk tuk tours.

And that concludes my list of Instagrammable places in San Francisco. What other places do I need to add to my list for my next visit?
